SS-INTROSPECT #14 : OVERCOMING ANXIOUS ANATOMY

Deep in the abyss of humanity derives fearful thoughts. Fear with no real relation to the task at hand. Yet the fear itself has real effects on the body. This fear appears everywhere. Moments before you approach the woman of your dreams, your hands begin to sweat. Seconds before a deadlift you did 1000x times over, your legs begin to tremble. Amid your biggest final exam your heart begins to beat out of your chest. What words could that woman say that would end your existence? You have prepared all month for this lift. Does the audience now make your muscles weaker? It's just words, metal, and people. Why fear the outcome you have prepared for ? Wait.... have you prepared? Is your diet made of the proper fuel to feel at ease? All questions worth asking yourself when anxiety sets in. Through preparation and proper dieting anxiety can be minimized.

Anxiety occurs when an exaggerated amount of fear happens within us . It is exaggerated because it does not correlate to the current task. This is not a grizzly bear chasing you over a grassy pasture in wyoming. This is rooted in past issues you have not overcame or present issues that you ignore. Sometimes it's just simply made up mental fallacies. Regardless of its roots, actions can be done to combat the worldly bastard. Our diet can play a key component. Foods such as barley are known to raise serotonin levels in the brain. That means this complex carbohydrate can have a calming effect on the body .Calm is the great ass kicker of anxiety. Bananas are also extremely helpful .  They contain carbohydrates, B6, magnesium, and potassium. A lack of those nutrients in the body can contribute to anxiety. So a surplus can do the opposite. Shockingly, “millet” a grain used in many foods can be extremely important. The phosphorus inside it helps with brain function. A mind moving efficiently is sometimes half the battle.

Our diet is key but our preparation is key as well. We have access to an abundance of information right at our fingertips. To walk into a situation butt naked makes little to no sense . Take time to immerse yourself in the subject or situation that brings you fear. Fear hates familiarity. Come up with a game plan and understanding about the situation. There's a book and a place to practice on just about anything these days . Don't hesitate to have a deep understanding and experience in the things that bring on anxiety. Preparation is key to your prosperity. The great by-product from this is opportunity .


You may lose the anxiety you once had from these practices. The change in diet and the change in actions could start a new chapter in your life. Your knowledge of your so-called “weakness” could make it a strength. This is a complete Win- Win for someone as great as you. But it all starts with your actions. Actions towards your diet . Actions toward your lifestyle. Actions towards the way you deal with overcoming yourself. Gain some understanding . Stand on business.
