SS~ FRAMEWORK PHYSIQUE #12 : BOAT LOAD
The mighty power of the sea, is built to carry me.
It is filled with motion as far as the eye can see.
Oh how I vow to build in every degree.
Its adventures are pleasant.
Its power is free.

The quiet cool waves of the outdoors can be refreshing. Though the local pool has its perks. The organic movement of a majestic body of water has no competition. Maybe it's the living organisms evolving within them. Maybe it's the cool earthy vibrations controlling its surface. No matter the reason they are fulfilling in every season. So how can we take advantage of these bodies? How can we safely navigate them and allow them to be more than a shore side spectacle?
The first step is choosing how we would like to dwell. Each body of water has its peace and challenges. Lakes are smaller and more controlled. Wind, waves, and cold water are the most you need to plan for. If it's just a small lake, a recreational boat will do. If it's a bit larger like Lake Pontchartrain you may need a touring boat. Rivers can be a bit more challenging. When it comes to smaller easy flowing rivers, a recreational boat is a smash hit. For a more exciting, adventurous river a touring boat is the obvious go too. Just make sure you choose a watercraft that's good for turning. Some people prefer touring kayaks during beautiful solo trips. They stow their goods away in the water proof hatch and off they go. Others like touring canoes so they can invite family or friends. No matter which you choose, always wear a life jacket and dress accordingly. A life jacket gives a huge sense of security to the loved ones you bring along with a disability. The watercraft and proper attire allows everyone to enjoy nature and its serenity. Speaking of dress, always dress for the temp of the water not the temp of the atmosphere. It may feel 75 out but the water maybe 45. Hyperthermia can drown you even with a life jacket if the boat tips over. Wear a wetsuit and if you heat up take a dip to let the water cool you.
The ocean is truly the big boy of them all. You get the beauty and serenity of lakes and rivers. But you also take on their challenges as well like wind and ruff waters. Let's throw in fog , huge waves , and sea dwellers. But don't get discouraged like all of mother nature if you respect it , it will respect you. Part of that respect is preparation. Bring your VHF radio and signals aboard your transportation. Dress, Pack , and gain experience before subjecting yourself to it. Places like the American Canoe Association can definitely help you get your feet wet. No pun intended lol.
No matter the body of water a great time is guaranteed. A time to align and fellowship with God's creation and each other. A moment to separate from radio waves and enjoy aquatic waves. Always use proper floatation inside any watercraft you choose. Even food and items in waterproof bags will suffice. You just don't want your boat flipping and it becoming next to impossible to get the water out. Waterproof bags keep your stuff dry and proper distribution of that weight keeps your paddling easy. Keep a loose grip when paddling and loose hips when navigating. Allow your body and those precious waves to become one.
